Yes sir and CDT that's right.

the pilot actually operates the plane in the prone position, would that be uncomfortable or more comfortable??

Sir you just beat me to it. CCPL it actually is better when dog fighting since you can take more g load.

yea i knew that much i was just interested as to how comfortable it would be compared to sitting.

I don't know. I prefer laying down than sitting down, i think its preference. There's also down sides to laying down in an aircraft: theres not much room to look above you, i think landing would be a little weird, and if you read about the XP-79 "Flying Ram" its hard to get out of the plane (but that was back in 1945). I would love to see another attempt at it. Like I said its more personal preference and I would prefer the prone position. What do you think would be more comfortable for you?

Well im not sure sitting i suppose because you can look around better and doing things like takeoff and landing wouldn't be so weird but in saying that i have never flown in the cockpit of a plane laying down so its hard to say.

Perhaps CDT Radoll you can take the next turn. Unless anyone else wants a turn
