Appointment of Commander Australian Air Force Cadets
I am pleased to announce that the Chief of Air Force has appointed Mr
Ken Given as the new Commander Australian Air Force Cadets. Mr Given
assumes the appointment following the successful tenure of GPCAPT
(AAFC) Colin Palmer. Mr Given will be appointed as a GPCAPT (AAFC) wef
Oct 09 and his initial tenure will be for the standard three years
with an option for a further two years.
Mr Given retired from the Permanent Air Force in 2000 as a Group
Captain after a 24 year career. Prior to his discharge from the PAF,
he held the appointment of Director of Education and Training Policy
in the Joint Education and Training Branch. Since his ‘retirement’ he
has remained active as a Reserve officer and is currently the Manager
of the ADF Youth Connection Program which includes the ADF’s Long Tan
Leadership and Teamwork Awards and the Defence 2020 Youth Program
initiatives.
In welcoming the new Commander, I would also like to extend my
appreciation to GPCAPT (AAFC) Colin Palmer for his total commitment to
the AAFC and for the significant outcomes that have been achieved
during his time as Commander.
Many thanks
Roger
